Reminder of a Memory

manipulated photo with drawing by Matt Frantz

16 x 20 inches, manipulated photograph with drawing

I decided on Reminder of a Memory as the title for this image because of the green, gold, and brown tones with scratched texture. At my aunt’s house, there was a painting above the fireplace. It probably bears no resemblance to this at all. The house is lived in by different people, my aunt and the painting are both gone, and there is no way I can see it again to compare. But this image reminds me of the painting, which reminds me of more images and sensations from early in my life. My parents also had a green bedspread that had gold tones that could be seen from certain angles. The cloth was worn in areas which added variety to the texture. It was soft and warm.
